Heart Attack (Myocardial Infarction)

Myocardial infarction (MI) is caused by a blood clot in a heart (coronary) artery.

It means that part of the heart muscle suddenly loses it's blood supply. Without prompt treatment, this can lead to damage to the affected part of the heart. MI is sometimes called a heart attack or coronary thrombosis.
